COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

Each year our chapter gives back to the communities in which we meet, starting with our Annual Conference. This year we have the opportunity to give back to South Hampton Roads.

We will be collecting items and then making care packages for clients of the YWCA of South Hampton Roads to be shared when they come in for counseling. If you can help donate any of the items below please contact Lauran Dangler.

  • A journal and pen (we will be writing encouraging notes on the inside)
  • Stress ball
  • Individual bubble sets (helps encourage deep breathing for child clients)
  • Coloring books (both child and adult) and colored pencils/crayons
  • Mints and/or candy (when dealing with trauma, your mouth often goes dry and the mints help produce saliva and activate a calming response)

Please also plan stop by our Community Service Project table at the Annual Meeting, Thursday, August 8, 2019, 4:30-5:30pm, at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. We will be writing notes one the cover pages of the journals and assembling care packages.
